CUTS

Legendary Soho stalwarts, CUTS barbers is back in its rightful spot. Now situated at 41 Frith Street, it may have a shiny new decor but it’s still resolutely old school - cash only, phone bookings and an open door policy to all and sundry. These guys are part of the fabric of Soho, if not London. Originating in Kensington Market back in the day, the post-punk upstarts shifted to Soho in the 80s and were the pioneers of the now-ubiquitous pavement bench. Which is, in fact, the perfect symbol of what CUTS represents. A village square of sorts, it’s still a magnet for Soho’s media execs, cafes owners, freelance hustlers, waifs and strays. A much needed community hub, if you will, that’s vital in the disconnected digital age.
